What is Herpventures? Herpventures is a children's e-book written with the express purpose to "pay it forward" to the herping community. Herpetoculture has given each of us a chance to learn, care for and appreciate the wonderful animals in this hobby. Now, they need our help.

Herpventures is a fantasy tale about a young group of friends who face many dangers during their adventure in the Everglades. Herpventures is illustrated in full color and written in simple, easy to read text. The story teaches children valuable lessons about animals, friendship and the true meaning of family. The book was written to allow a parent to share the story, while keeping it simple enough that a child as young as ten can read alone.

100% of the proceeds from Herpventures will be donated to the SAVE THE FROGS! "STF! is an international team of scientists, educators, policymakers and naturalists dedicated to protecting the world’s amphibian species."

In addition, the creators of Herpventures will hold drawings for SAVE THE FROGS! merchandise. Anyone who purchases an e-book will be entered into each drawing. Prizes will include T-shirts, posters and bumper stickers. Quantities of prizes given is determined by book sales.

Herpventures was written by Kimberly Robillard and illustrated by Laura Rice.

"Amphibians are without a doubt the most threatened group of animals on the planet: nearly 1/3 of the world's 6,317 species are on the brink of extinction. There are six major factors negatively affecting amphibians, and all are due to human activity: habitat destruction, infectious diseases, pollution & pesticides, climate change, invasive species, and over-harvesting for the pet and food trades. Unfortunately, though national parks and preserves are an integral part of conserving amphibian populations, they are no longer sufficient in and of themselves, as airborne pollutants, climate change and infectious diseases can easily cross any boundaries."
